Publish your child’s stories

With November sporting Family Literacy Month, it seems the perfect time to introduce you to a fun website – Scribblitt.  My daughter loves books, she has from a very young age.  More than reading them, she loves to make her own.  We have notebooks and pads of paper filled with drawings and stories.  As a mom, these are one of my most cherished keepsakes.  My daughter has often talked about how fun it would be to have her own “published” book someday.  Well, that someday came earlier than she ever thought.

Enter Scribblitt.com, a fun and fantastic website where kids can create, illustrate and publish their own stories in a high-quality, hard cover book.  The site even has tools like Story Starters to help your child with creative ideas for stories and a Planning Tool to help with tips for key areas of story structure.  The illustrations are easy with the Illustrate it tool, you simply pick your picture and click to mix and match the illustrations with the story being written.

One aspect to this site that rocks our world is that with every book published, Scribblitt donates a book to a child in need!  We love sharing books and the idea that with every book my daughter makes and purchases, another child is receiving a book free just makes us love the site all the more.

Scribblitt offers to options for publishing your child’s book.  There is the Deluxe Comic Book which is 20 pages including cover, 8.5″x11″ for $19.99 or the Hardcover Book, 17 pages + cover, 8″x8″ for $24.99.  The books are high quality and professionally done.  My daughter showed hers to friends and teachers and they thought she had actually been published. Andrea Bergstein, founder of  Scribblitt, has developed a high quality product you, your child and your family will be proud to own and show off.

With Christmas right around the corner, you might want to consider a gift card for a gift or a stocking stuffer.  My daughter is writing a few stories to send to relatives (and she is autographing them).  What a great keepsake for the grandparents or relatives that live far away.
